If they see 100s or even 1000s of links from other sites to your web site, they both look harder at the keywords in your content and rank your site higher for those keywords and phrases. That is why it is very important to have keywords and phrases on your site that you really want to market.
NOTE: A keyword or phrase is a phrase that someone types into a seach
engine such as "car repair los angeles". If you fix cars in los angeles, this
would be a great keyword phrase for you. Conversely, "car repair" is too
general and harder for your web site to be ranked. |
THINK VERY HARD ABOUT WHAT SEARCH WORDS YOU WANT TO PROMOTE!
As we mentioned above, the keywords and phrases are very important. For instance, if your business is local and you want to promote a bakery in the city of san diego, don't enter "bakery" or "cookies" as keyword phrases. These phrases are too generic and you won't see results. Better keyword phrases would be "bakery san diego" or "cake store san diego." Think about what other people would type into a search engine to find a store or business like yours.
